Read our Privacy PolicyThousands of CFDs, AI-powered insights, and one question the platform cannot answer for you
Capital.com has earned its reputation as one of the most accessible and well-rounded CFD platforms on the market. Regulated by the FCA, CySEC, ASIC, and SCB, it offers thousands of CFD instruments spanning forex, stocks, indices, commodities, crypto, and ETFs, all with zero commission and competitive spreads.
The platform itself is genuinely impressive. The proprietary web and mobile apps are clean and intuitive, with TradingView charts built directly in for professional-grade technical analysis. The AI-powered SmartFeed delivers personalized market updates based on your trading behavior and interests, surfacing relevant news and analysis without you having to search for it. For traders who prefer the familiar, MT4 is also supported. And the educational content is among the best in the industry, making Capital.com a natural home for both beginners finding their footing and experienced traders looking for a low-cost, well-regulated platform.
But Capital.com was built to help you find opportunities and execute trades. It shows you your open positions, your account balance, and your trade history. What it does not show you is which of your trading setups consistently make money, whether your forex trades outperform your stock CFDs, which time of day produces your best results, or whether your risk management is strong enough to sustain long-term profitability.
Your capital trading journal in TradeBB answers all of those questions. It takes the trade data Capital.com already records and transforms it into the kind of structured performance analysis that turns good instincts into repeatable edge.
How to export your trade data from Capital.com
Capital.com stores your complete trade history and provides multiple ways to download it. Here is how to get your data ready for analysis. [4] [5]
Account statement (recommended method)
On the mobile app:
- Open the Capital.com app
- Go to Account > Statements > New statement
- Select the relevant account and timeframe
- Click Generate
- Download the generated statement file
On the web platform:
- Log in to your Capital.com account on the web
- Navigate to Account > Reports
- Select your desired date range
- Generate and download the report
Trade history export
For a more focused export of just your trades:
- Go to Account > Reports > Trades history
- Select the time period you want to export
- Download the trade history file
What the exported file contains
A typical Capital.com trade export includes: trade ID, instrument (symbol), direction (buy/sell), open price, close price, open time, close time, position size, spread cost, overnight fees, and profit or loss. [5] Each row represents a completed round-trip trade from entry to exit.
A few things to keep in mind
- Capital.com offers both CFD trading and spread betting (UK only). If you use both, export each account type separately for cleaner analysis in TradeBB.
- Overnight fees (swap charges) are included in the export, which means TradeBB can calculate your true net P&L after all holding costs.
- If you trade on both the Capital.com proprietary platform and MT4, export from each platform independently and upload both to TradeBB.
Upload the file to TradeBB. The system recognizes Capital.com export formats and maps all fields automatically. No manual formatting needed.
What TradeBB reveals about your Capital.com trading
Capital.com gives you access to thousands of instruments across multiple asset classes. That breadth is a strength, but it also means there are more variables affecting your performance than you might realize. TradeBB helps you see through the complexity.
Setup-level performance tracking
Every trader has patterns they rely on. Maybe you trade breakouts on stock CFDs, mean-reversion setups on forex pairs, momentum plays on indices, or news-driven moves on crypto. TradeBB lets you tag each trade with the setup that triggered it. Over time, the platform calculates win rate, average R-multiple, expectancy, and total P&L for each setup type.
This is where the SmartFeed stops and self-knowledge begins. Capital.com's AI can tell you what the market is doing. TradeBB tells you what you are doing with that information, and whether it is working.
Multi-asset class performance breakdown
With Capital.com offering forex, stocks, indices, commodities, crypto, and ETF CFDs, it is easy to spread your trading across many markets. TradeBB breaks your P&L down by asset class and by individual instrument. See whether your forex trading is subsidizing losses in crypto, whether your commodity trades are net positive after overnight fees, or whether that stock CFD strategy you started last month is pulling its weight. When you trade across multiple markets, knowing where your edge actually lives is the first step toward growing it.
Overnight fee impact analysis
CFD trading involves overnight financing charges that can quietly erode profits, especially on positions held for multiple days. Capital.com includes these fees in your trade exports. TradeBB uses this data to show you the true net P&L of each trade and each instrument after all holding costs. Some instruments that look profitable on a gross basis turn negative once overnight fees are factored in. TradeBB makes that visible so you can adjust your holding periods or instrument selection accordingly.
Session and time-of-day analysis
Capital.com's markets span multiple time zones, from Asian session forex to European stock CFDs to U.S. index trading. TradeBB maps your P&L to time of day so you can see when your trading is sharpest. Are your London session forex trades more profitable than your New York session ones? Do your pre-market stock CFD entries outperform regular session trades? The data reveals your optimal trading windows.
Drawdown and risk management metrics
TradeBB calculates maximum drawdown, profit factor, average winner vs. average loser, consecutive loss streaks, and drawdown recovery time. For leveraged CFD trading where losses can accumulate quickly, understanding your drawdown patterns is essential for long-term survival. TradeBB shows you how deep your drawdowns go, how long they last, and which behaviors trigger them.
Long vs. short performance
CFD trading gives you equal access to both sides of the market. TradeBB separates your long and short trades and calculates independent performance metrics for each direction. Some traders have a natural bias toward one side. Maybe your long trades on stock CFDs are consistently profitable while your short trades break even or lose money. That asymmetry is worth knowing about, and TradeBB makes it impossible to ignore.
Capital FAQ
Does TradeBB work with all instrument types available on Capital.com?
Yes. Capital.com offers CFDs on forex, stocks, indices, commodities, crypto, and ETFs. [1] [2] TradeBB analyzes trades across all of these instrument types. The platform automatically categorizes your trades by symbol and asset class, giving you a clear performance breakdown regardless of how many markets you trade.
Can TradeBB account for overnight fees and spread costs in my P&L analysis?
Yes. Capital.com trade exports include overnight fee data, and TradeBB uses this to calculate your true net P&L after all holding costs. [1] This is especially important for CFD traders who hold positions for more than one day, as overnight financing charges can significantly affect the profitability of individual trades and instruments.
I use both the Capital.com platform and MT4. Can I upload trades from both?
Yes. Export your trade history from each platform separately and upload both files to TradeBB. The system handles both Capital.com proprietary exports and MT4 statement exports. You can track them as separate accounts or combine them for an overall performance view.
Can I see whether my long trades perform differently from my short trades?
Yes. TradeBB automatically separates your trades by direction and calculates independent performance metrics for long and short positions. This includes win rate, average P&L, expectancy, and profit factor for each direction. For CFD traders who have equal access to both sides of the market, understanding directional bias is one of the most actionable insights available.
