Strategy Reports Explained

The Strategies report helps you evaluate trading performance based on your trading strategies.

Instead of grouping trades by symbol, the Strategies report groups trades by the strategy assigned to each trade. This makes it easier to understand which approaches consistently generate profits and which strategies may need improvement.

You can access it by navigating to:

Reports → Strategies

Before You Begin

The Strategies report only includes trades that have been assigned a strategy.

If your report is empty, you may need to create strategies and assign them to your trades first.

  • Create strategy categories
  • Add strategies
  • Assign strategies to trades

  • Analyze strategy reports

Once strategies are assigned to your trades, the Strategies report will automatically begin showing performance data.

Summary Cards

At the top of the page, you'll find several key strategy insights.

Best Performing

The strategy with the highest Net P&L.

This helps identify the trading approach that has generated the most profit.

Least Performing

The strategy with the lowest Net P&L.

Reviewing your weakest strategies can help uncover recurring mistakes or setups that may not suit your trading style.

Best Win Rate

The strategy with the highest percentage of winning trades.

Keep in mind that a high win rate does not always mean the highest profitability.

Most Active

The strategy with the largest number of trades.

This shows which trading approach you use most frequently.

Best Profit Factor

The strategy with the highest Profit Factor.

A higher Profit Factor generally indicates stronger risk-to-reward performance.

How to Use the Strategy Report

A simple review process is:

1. Find Your Best Strategy

Look at Net P&L and Profit Factor to identify your strongest strategy.

Ask yourself:

  • What market conditions worked well?
  • Were there common setups?
  • Can the process be repeated?

2. Review Losing Strategies

Examine strategies with negative Net P&L.

Look for:

  • Poor entries
  • Weak risk management
  • Inconsistent execution

3. Compare Win Rate and Profitability

A strategy with a lower win rate can still be highly profitable if the winning trades are significantly larger than the losing trades.

4. Monitor Trade Volume

A large number of trades does not always lead to better results.

The Most Active strategy can help reveal whether you're overtrading a particular setup.

5. Focus on What Works

Many traders discover that only a small number of strategies generate most of their profits.

The Strategies report helps you identify those high-performing approaches and allocate more attention to them.

Tips for Better Strategy Analysis

For the most meaningful results:

  • Define clear strategy names.
  • Use the same strategy consistently.
  • Avoid creating too many overlapping strategies.
  • Review strategy performance regularly.
  • Combine strategy analysis with symbol and tag reports for deeper insights.

Over time, the Strategies report can help you identify which trading approaches deserve more focus and which ones should be refined or eliminated.
