Interactive Brokers connects through a Flex Query, a report you define once in Client Portal, and a Flex Web Service token that lets TradeBB fetch it. You set both up in IBKR, then paste them into TradeBB.
Step 1: Create a Flex Query in Client Portal
- Open Performance & Reports → Flex Queries
- Create a new Activity Flex Query and name it, for example
TradeBB - Under Trades, choose Executions and select all fields
- Set the format to CSV, include the header row, and set the period to the last 365 days
- Save the query and copy its Query ID
Step 2: Generate a token
- Still under Flex Queries, open Flex Web Service Configuration
- Generate a token and copy it
Step 3: Connect in TradeBB
- Open Import Trades → Add broker account and choose Interactive Brokers
- Paste the Query ID and the token
Your trades start syncing. The token is read-only: it can fetch the reports you defined, but it can't place trades or move money. You can revoke it in Client Portal at any time.
Prefer to upload a file?
Two IBKR files work:
- Transaction History CSV — in Client Portal, go to Performance & Reports → Transaction History, choose your date range and download the CSV
- Flex Query CSV — run your Flex Query by hand and download the result
Upload the file under Import Trades exactly as IBKR produced it. Don't edit it first.
Troubleshooting
My first sync came back empty.
IBKR can take up to 24 hours to activate a new token. Check that your Flex Query runs in Client Portal, then try again the next day.
I need more than a year of history.
A Flex Query covers up to 365 days. For older years, run the query for each year, download the CSV and upload each file, oldest first.
My totals are in the wrong currency.
TradeBB converts every trade into your global currency. Set it in settings, ideally before your first import.
