How to import your thinkorswim trades

TradeBB reads the Account Statement you export from the thinkorswim desktop platform.

Export your Account Statement

  1. Open the thinkorswim desktop platform and click the Monitor tab
  2. Click Account Statement in the left sidebar
  3. Select the account, then set the date range. It defaults to the previous day only
  4. Click the menu icon in the top-right corner of the statement and choose Export to file
  5. Save it as CSV. The file name ends in AccountStatement.csv

Upload it to TradeBB

  1. Open Import Trades
  2. Choose your thinkorswim account, or add one
  3. Upload AccountStatement.csv as it is

The statement has several sections, such as trade history, deposits and dividends. You don't need to split it.

To keep your journal current, export again whenever you want to update, covering the dates since your last upload.

Troubleshooting

My export is almost empty.

The Account Statement shows one day by default. Set the date range, then export again.

My file won't import.

If you changed the statement's columns, open the same menu and choose Load Defaults, then export again. Don't edit the file before uploading.
